Introduced in 1996, CAO Gold continues to enjoy a devoted fan base and has received some of the highest ratings in the industry, including multiple 90 ratings from various sources. Not necessarily a mild cigar, CAO Gold's blonde wrapper can be deceiving.
The Gold filler is a mild-to medium-bodied Nicaraguan tobacco that has benefitted from an extended aging period, resulting in a very smooth, almost unctuous smoke that slides across the palate, offering hints of vanilla and nutmeg. Add to this the unique contributions from the Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut wrapper, a leaf grown in a unique biosphere of thin soil, frequent cloud cover, and lower elevation; these factors eliminated the need for growing the plants under cheesecloth shading.
You don't stay around for over 10 years unless your special and this is a prime example of that!
